Pallas' Prowl
Team project for the LittleJS Game Jam.
Jam theme: Endangered Animals
The game features the endangered Salt-Marsh Harvest Mouse (Reithrodontomys raviventris). Also known as the red-bellied harvest mouse, this rodent species is native to the San Francisco Bay Area and is listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as ENDANGERED (EN).
The main character is a Pallas's cat (Otocolobus manul), which also appears in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, but only under the "least concern" category as the IUCN determined them to be plentiful in the wild. This small breed of cat is well adapted to cold climates.
How to Play
You control a Pallas' cat seeking shelter before night. In this game, you must reach your cave shelter before your warmth timer reaches zero. Score points and keep warm by feeding on berries and mice as you make your way to the cave exit. Bonus challenge: extinct all the endangered Salt-Marsh Harvest Mice on the level.
